Sing with Al-Bustan's Choir this Summer 2021!
Al-Bustan is pleased to offer choir lessons led by Serge El Helou! Choral members will engage in exercises to improve vocal ability and group harmony while learning songs of the Arabic-speaking world.
Fee: $300 for 10-weeks
Capped at 10 students

If interested, please send a short (30 second-1 minute) video or audio clip of yourself singing to bridget@albustanseeds.org. You are invited to sing Ya Leil– step-by-step direction for which is found on Al-Bustan Fil Bayt– or another song of your choice. Registration will be sent following receipt of this clip.

Serge El Helou
was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He began playing guitar, piano, and percussion at an early age. While pursuing his degree in Musicology in Lebanon, he had the privilege to learn harmony and composition with renowned composer Toufic Succar. In 2003, he pursued his musical career in Paris at René Descartes University where he earned another degree in Music Therapy and received his Orchestration degree from Boulogne Billancourt Conservatory, France. El Helou also received a Master’s degree in music therapy in the U.S. In addition to many years of experience in teaching music and working as a choir director with Al-Bustan, El Helou composes music for children plays, short films, and documentaries. Several of his compositions where recently performed by chamber orchestras in Philadelphia and New York.
