Update November 17, 2020: Given the increase in COVID-19 cases and the city's guidelines announced yesterday, it was determined best to not hold this event now. Hopefully we can plan a gathering next Spring.

Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture is pleased to co-present this community gathering with our friends at Scribe Video Center, Police Free Penn, People’s Emergency Center, Community Education Center, West Powelton Saunders Park Civic Association, Powelton Village Civic Association, Mantua Civic Association, LA 21st Century Business Association, and ICPIC-New Africa Center.

Join us for an outdoor community screening and discussion on place-based abolition and solidarity across Black, Palestinian, and Indigenous lives.

This Thanksgiving season we reflect collectively on the history and violence of neocolonialism, and what it means to thrive amidst the police state. Come out for a screening of shorts which center resistance and occupation movements, locally and abroad, sparking a community discussion on how we can build the neighborhoods and the world we want to live in.
