Al-Bustan Music at The Porch

With the support of University City District, Al-Bustan Music announces three outdoor performances at The Porch at 30th Street Station in the Spring of 2014. [highlight]Arab Percussion WorkshopThursday, May 22, 12-1pm[/highlight] Hafez Kotain leads The Moffet School Drummers in a medley of all-percussion arrangements and call-and-answer. Audience members will be invited on stage to participate in a demonstration. [highlight]Arab Classical & Folk Music: Learn an Arabic Song!Thursday, May 29, 12-1pm[/highlight] Members of Al-Bustan Takht Ensemble will perform a medley of Arab classical/folk music and lead the audience in singing an Arabic song. [highlight]Crossing GenresThursday, June 5, 12-1pm[/highlight] Al-Bustan Takht Ensemble and guest artists David Brodie and Barry Sames will explore interpretations of Arab classical and contemporary compositions and jazz music. [highlightsm]These events are free and open to the public.
