Arabic Language Classes for Youth

Al-Bustan is pleased to offer online Modern Standard Arabic classes for 4th graders and older youth in 2021, following our successful pilot program in 2020. Held on ZOOM, the 15-week sessions begin the week of January 17 through the end of April 2021. There are three classes to choose from (1 day per week or 2 days per week), taught by experienced teachers Issam Bougtoub and Noora Alrawi.

Booza Class (Beginner 1): 60-minute lesson on Wednesdays at 6 PM and Sundays at 11 AM (EST) with Noora Alrawi

Knafeh Class (Beginner 2): 90-minute lesson on Sundays at 11 AM (EST) with Issam Bougtoub

Baklaweh Class (Beginner 2): 60-minute lesson on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 PM (EST) with Issam Bougtoub

Issam Bougtoub
Issam Bougtoub graduated with an MS in Education from Saint Joseph’s University in 2014, after obtaining his Bachelors in the English Language from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah University in Fes, Morocco. He has taught English and Arabic to students K-12 in both private and public schools, and was an Arabic instructor with Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture in 2013 and in the Fall of 2020. We are excited to welcome him back in 2021!

Noora Alrawi
Noora Alrawi has a B.A. in Fine Arts from Purdue University. She is a certified Arabic instructor with STARTALK Program based at the University of Maryland. Noora has taught Arabic at Penn State University since 2011. Her other experiences include teaching elementary age students at private schools and institutions for many years. We are excited to have her in 2021!
