Film Summary: Waleed dreams of a writing career while suffering from depression. He develops a relationship with his neighbor - a small-time crook. While the scheme turns into an unexpected friendship, it leads them into a journey of dark encounters.
Director Bio: Maha Haj was born in Nazareth in 1970. She graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalemin English and Arabic literature. Her cinematic experience was derived from her work as an artisticdesigner in the productions ofThe Time That Remainby Elia Suleiman,The Attack by ZiadDouairi, as wellasOn the Hillby Rafael Natjari.She wrote and directed the short filmOranges(2009) and the documentaryBehind These Walls(2010).In 2015 she shot her first feature filmPersonal Affairswhich was selected in 2016 Cannes Film Festival’sOfficial Selection “Un Certain Regard” and critically acclaimed.
