In delivering the highest caliber of arts programming to students, educators, and the general public, Al-Bustan has also developed a Master Performances Program. Through this program, Al-Bustan seeks to expose residents of the greater Philadelphia area to presentations by local and internationally-renown artists.
Since 2008, Al-Bustan has presented master Arab musicians such as A.J. Racy, Simon Shaheen, and Hanna Khoury in Philadelphia for concerts and workshops at schools and colleges. Al-Bustan sponsored author Hanan al-Shaykh’s visit to U-Penn, and presented poets/writers Naomi Shihab Nye and Ibtisam Barakat for readings and workshops.
