Al-Bustan had an eventful year of music! From developing Al-Bustan Percussion Ensemble to include direction by Hafez El-Ali Kotain; offering percussion instruction at 7 Philadelphia public schools; piloting a music ensemble led by master violinist Hanna Khoury, inviting master musician, composer and educator Simon Shaheen to work with teachers and youth; to a culminating performance on May 19th that brought together a diversity of talents and ages under the roof of GAMP School’s beautiful new auditorium.
